High Street Gutter Cleaning

To all car owners who park their cars on the High Street overnight.

Please can you ensure your vehicle is parked on the north side of the High Street on Sunday night and on the south side on Monday Night . every 2nd week (please see later update)

Stockbridge Parish Council has arranged with TVBC for the street guttering on both sides of the High Street to be swept on a weekly basis. This is to ensure that any debris and rubbish is kept out of the drainage system and thus to avoid blockages. It should be noted that the High Street storm drains have only 10% spare capacity and so any blockages could cause serious problems, leading to flash flooding in the High Street.

All car owners that park on the High Street need to be aware of this arrangement and take it into account when parking their cars on these nights because the work of the sweepers will be rendered less effective and more time consuming if it is necessary for them to navigate around cars.
