River Test pollution
Stockbridge Parish Council
The Parish Council is working with other PCs along the Test to investigate the ongoing release of sewage and other pollutants in the River Test by Southern Water.
A recent incident was discovered at the Fullerton outfall on Friday 23rd February and continued for several days afterwards.
Incidents are taking place when the level of rainwater is too high for Southern Water to cope with. When this occurs Southern Water pumps the rainwater and effluence into the rivers to get rid of it. This means as more rain is forecast, it is likely to happen again.
It may be worth restraining your dogs from drinking from the RIver Test as there is anecdotal evidence that dogs, that drink the river water, are becoming ill.
