Stockbridge Parish Council is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to fill the role of Parish Clerk. The Parish Clerk serves as the essential link between the village community and the Parish Council, fulfilling statutory duties as the Proper Officer of the Council. This role ensures legal compliance and provides vital administrative support, including managing paperwork, preparing for meetings, implementing decisions, and advising the Council on policy and financial matters.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact between the community and the Parish Council.
- Ensure legal compliance and provide administrative support.
- Manage paperwork, prepare for meetings, implement decisions, and advise on policy and financial matters.
- Attend monthly Parish Council meetings and other occasional meetings, primarily in Stockbridge.
Council Composition: The Parish Council consists of ten councillors (currently with two vacancies) and meets eleven times a year.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily home-based, with required attendance at SPC meetings at Stockbridge Town Hall and other occasional meetings in Stockbridge.
- Contracted for 40 hours per month, with flexibility around meeting attendance.
- Additional hours, if any, can be compensated with TOIL or overtime, subject to approval.
Salary: £15.00 per hour
